I spent last week in New York City. What a city! The energy was great and despite their bad reputation, everyone was really friendly. My one disappointment was that I just never have enough time to see everything that I want. I’ll just have to keep going back.

It’s kind of a bleak day today. Just the kind of day this guy who I named “Uncle Chucklepants” would probably enjoy. That is if he enjoyed anything. He looks rather miserable. I watched him for quite a while and he remained miserable. I should have asked this guy to join us for a pint.

Today Irving Penn died. He was an amazing photographer. He was not just a fashion photographer as the title of the obit in the NYTimes suggests; he was a true master. I was wandering through San Francisco’s Chinatown last February and the colors on this wall and in the windows caught my eye. They were all just glorious. The blue panties hanging are the gem of the photo for me. Who hangs just one pair of panties? They must be pretty special.
