Six Different Ways
Tuesday, September 1st, 2009This final portfolio was created for an independent study project in studio lighting at Foothill College in the spring quarter 2009. The instructor was Keith Lee. These images were originally archival pigment prints and tipped into a handmade book. Text accompanying the images include song lyrics by Saint Etienne and the Cure and a quote by Hans Hofman.

Merci J.H. Lartigue

I believe that music, in the long run, can straighten out most things.

I’m so bored with stupidity.

Our father who art in heaven, please stay there.

In nature, light creates the color. In pictures, color creates the light.

Little girls are made of everything nice
We pay the price
For wearing hearts on sleeves
I still believes
We hold the key
To the better way to be
With feminine energy.
(Lyrics from the song “Soft Like Me” by St. Etienne)

Pour Kiki.

This is stranger than I thought
six different ways inside my heart
and everyone I’ll keep tonight
six different ways go deep inside.
(lyrics from the song “Six Different Ways” by the Cure)
